Variety Discounts House

leave a comment »

Juan Guzman from Cuba heard there was a good deal going on the G and M Variety Discounts House 41 years ago, so he bought it complete with stock.  Variety Discounts will close in two months. Business isn’t so good these days and Juan thinks that at age 81 it’s time for him to retire.  His secret to staying young is “trabajando duro,” working hard.

Mold Your Dreams

Who in Harlem spends 30,000 on a diamond ring or 50,000 on a diamond cross necklace?  The guy inside definitely didn’t want to talk about it.  Nice stuff, though, if you can afford it.

Opening the Door

Kids overheard talking about saggy pants fashion:

Do they realize that is gay?

It’s like opening the door.

Wide open.

Gatita

leave a comment »

Style and fashion critic, Vanessa Baconcini visited Gatita with me and this is what she had to say: “If you’re working on becoming a “mamasita” Gatita is the place for you.  There you can find many tacky and flamboyant garments, including a unique dress based on a frosted birthday cake from a quinceañera.  If you’re not a hooker, but you want to look like one, there’s no better place than Gatita.  Actually, if you mix these things up a bit, you can find some great stuff.”

Is lifelong true love possible between two people? Pt.1

He: Lust can grow the more you know. But then it can all just end in a moment.

She: Familiarity breeds contempt.

He: It’s not what someone does for you, but what you give them.

She: It depends how much you’ve got to give, or give up.

He: Just because you don’t have it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Do you believe in the idea of a soul mate? Pt. 1

with one comment

She: I don’t know.  I think so.  As we live our lives and get to know ourselves, the knowing could possibly lead us to the one we’re supposed to spend our lives with.

He: No.  True love is in the mind.  I don’t believe in an external consciousness or fate that brings us together with our “soul mate.” If you look at the animal kingdom, most species don’t have a “soul mate.”  I think love happens in stages.  If I had met my partner when I was 19, I might not have been ready.  But as you get more mature, you find someone and you find love with the one you’re with.  Love is an internal decision.

What is the difference between men and women? Pt. 12

leave a comment »

Women have wider peripheral vision.  When a man and a woman meet, the man looks the woman up and down.  The woman does the same thing, but she can do it without moving her head because her eyes see in all directions.

Humans are the only mammals to have visible breast structures.  When we started walking upright, breasts developed to mimic asses.  Monkeys are attracted to the females’ big asses.  Studies showed that–in photographs–men can’t tell the difference between breast cleavage and ass cleavage.
